OT_CarersUnite Easily resolved without increasing taxes, pay ALL #UnpaidCarers £15 p/hr for the hours we care averaging 66hrs per week for starters, pay pen/cons @ 22% similar to local councillors, allow us to claim tax relief on disable aides & products.

How can we improve the care debt situation? How can we make social care fit for purpose? #UnpaidCarers carry the burden of care and many become ill themselves.

My heart goes out to her and her family. Having fought the system since 2009 just watching a nurse assessor would see her met the criteria for CHC and he should have been fully funded. I paid out £10,000 a month used all cards savings borrowed money. They robbed her of time

Unpaid carers work an excessive amount of hours. There’s nothing they can do about it, it seems

They cannot report it to the health and safety executive as others can, as they’re the only people not covered by the laws, regulations and rules that apply to everyone else 🧵
