Let 2020 be the year as a country we gain as understanding of privilege and become more aware of the injustices against people of color. If we can get that far, we can go places with this in 2021. Change will not happen overnight, this has to be the somewhere we start from.

The neuroscientist in me was SO excited when my friend pointed out that in Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse when Peter B. Parker gets shocked by Miles it’s his nervous system that lights up - not his skeleton which is what is usually shown when this happens in animation 🧠🤯

Teaching high school kiddos about mouse and human brains is THE BEST WAY TO SPEND A SATURDAY

It’s so dope being part of this program!! There’s definitely a need to fix the leaky pipeline of underrepresented minorities in STEM, and this Neuroscience Academy for our high school fellows was just one of the ways we can start repairing it.
