At my workshop last weekend, I said that if I could only have one app on my iPhone, I’d pick PhotoPills before the text and phone apps. I could never do any of the photography I do without this tool! 😅

The eclipse I saw in 2017 ignited a passion to pursue astrophotography.

With just one week until the Solar Eclipse that will pass directly over NB on April 8, our supporters are eager to learn more about the skies above us. We sat down with Brad Perry, a night sky photographer, to learn about his work.

In utter shock and disbelief over the news of the sudden passing of astrophotographer Alyn Wallace 🌌. I can’t even begin to explain what an inspiration his photography, knowledge, and adventures under the night sky have been to myself and many others. 💔

The lineup is exciting and all, but let’s focus on this wild detail. We can clearly surmise that this couple is witnessing a fireball from the Sept Epsilon Perseids meteor shower, which peaks on the night before the festival begins and has its radiant point in the southeast sky.

The total solar eclipse is 2 weeks from today, which means April 8th now appears in the 14-day forecast. I realize weather predictions that far out don’t matter, but the added anxiety is fun. 🙃

Struck out on both the moonrise (too cloudy) AND the G4/KP8 aurora (subsided before nightfall) last night but I got this shot of the cathedral looking all snazzy.
