Stopped in a suburb on distant outskirts of Rome to take pics of where my grandpa was during the battle there in June '44. Locals got wind of my visit, and this happened! Lunch in Centocelle. A wonderful surprise and heartwarming welcome.

Yesterday for work, I got to cruise backwaters of the Mississippi River on a houseboat, while an opera singer (who owns the boat) stood on the roof and sang “Ol’ Man River.” I may have the best job in the world. 😃#MississippiRiver #opera

Met this 99 y/o at Rhone American Cemetery Liberation Day ceremony in France (Cemetery for Americans killed in WWll in southern France) For 10+ years she’s been coming to the annual ceremony from Arizona to honor her boyfriend who was 19 when he was killed in 1944.😢❤️🇺🇸🇫🇷
