You can't separate an artist from their actions because their power to cause harm on that scale comes from your support of them as artists. By continuing to buy merch, or stream music, or watch interviews, you contribute to the power that enables them to cause harm with impunity.

And i say with impunity because (1) we excuse behavior from celebrities and artists that we would never accept from others and because (2) that same power gives them money, resources, relationships, etc to avoid accountability.
