First operation completed just another 5 to go! No 5 axis CNC here 😭

Op 1 completed on both swivels for our new Greenpower Education Trust F24+ car. Tried a different roughing strategy for the left side that reduced cycle time down to 90 minutes. Quite a few more hours to go before complete. #Engineering #apprenticeships #cnc

Programming the next operation in the manufacture of our new swivels. We will have to index this part around on a fixture to machine all areas on our 3 axis cnc mill.

The fixture to allow the rest of our 3D machining is now complete! We will index the component around on the locating dowels to allow us to get into all the areas to be machined. On our way to completing new cars for the Greenpower Education Trust 20th Anniversary! #STEM #Engineering

First pass on the 2nd 3D operation gave a reasonable result. Very little blending to remove machining marks will be required on completion.

Maybe just 2 more operations left to complete the 3d parts of our current machining project. A little conventional machining using manual mills after that. We love pushing our boundaries on our Greenpower Education Trust voyage!

BPC Greenpower team ready to run their Greenpower Education Trust wheel change challenge at #bigbangdorset

Happy to announce the final sorted results of our Greenpower Education Trust wheel change challenge from yesterdays #bigbangdorset event at the The Tank Museum. Well done to all the students that took part.

Busy Greenpower session this evening. Two chassis's being worked on by the team. A bit of MIG welding on the temporary steel chassis for the main car and prep of aluminium tube for the other.

Couple of things happening today. Body plug transported to Sunseeker for their composite apprentices to work on, with the aim of producing a mold and body molding. The team also busy pilot drilling one of the new chassis for lightening holes.

Our Greenpower team will be returning to the project this September, and we can't wait to use some of the new equipment to assist in the build of the new cars.
