#FunLondonFact 176 - #JosephGrimaldi was a late 18th & 19th century #actor, #comedian & #clown. His burial site is now a park and in 2010, x2 pseudo graves were installed; one for Grimaldi, made from bronze tiles that chime when stepped on so you can dance on their graves.

In 1952 Albert Gunter was driving his 78 bus over #TowerBridge when it started to open. He accelerated and jumped the gap, got a broken leg for his efforts, but his 20 passengers were all okay. As a reward for his quick thinking Albert was given a day off & £10. Tower Bridge

In 1662, in #CoventGarden, an #Italian #puppeteer gave the first performance of a show in #London with a puppet called #Pulcinella. #SamuelPepys recorded it in his diary. The show became '#PunchandJudy' which is why today the pub overlooking the spot is called the Punch & Judy.
