Tower Bridge is celebrating 130 years with a free, summer-long exhibition you won't want to miss. Get ready to dive into a hidden treasure trove - a collection of photographs from the public opening in 1894, unseen by the public for over a century. Exhibition opens 22 June.

On Sunday, 21 April 2024 two of our bridges, Tower Bridge & Southwark Bridge, will be closed to traffic as part of TCS London Marathon road closures. Both will remain open to pedestrians.

Tower Bridge closure: 8am-7pm
Southwark Bridge closure: 7.30am-8.30pm

Did you know that Tower Bridge’s stokers used to shovel 20 tonnes of coal per week? That's around the same weight as three adult elephants! 🐘 There were up to 30 men working in the Engine Rooms every day of the year.
