It is involving parents and other family members into their student's learning, going beyond attending functions or joining the PTA. Ex: supporting parents in strengthening the home for learning, reading together as a family, supporting study time, etc. #OCPSchats

We would host family curriculum nights where parents and their sons/daughters engaged in fun, hands-on learning activities together around literacy, math and science. It created a bond for learning together. #OCPSchats

A colleague observed one of my classes where we shared a couple of students who were misbehaving for her. She observed teacher-student interactions of respect and high expectations and saw these students in a new light and modified her approaches with them.

Increased attention to listening to understand . . . reflecting more and providing opinions less. I also commit to developing the kinds of questions that promote reflection in others. #OCPSchats
