The Court's Vexillologist returned to Bothwell today for the next step in their community flag competition; the judging panel. It took over 4 hours of deliberation to get through all the entries, with a huge number submitted by the local schools. Voting will open later this year.

Thanks to @BothwellChurch for their hospitality in hosting us today. It was a long but very productive day and it was great to see that the local schools really took on board my advice on flag design.

The Lord Lyon, accompanied by Bute Pursuivant and March Pursuivant Extraordinary, attended the launch of the winning community flag for Bothwell, designed by Ava, aged ten, at Bothwell Parish Church. Michael Shanks MP attended the event.

Enjoyed a wonderful reception in @BothwellChurch as I returned for the unveiling of the flag competition winner, designed by a local schoolgirl. Bothwell now takes up its rightful space on the community flag map. More to come this year, with my next community meeting tomorrow.
