i grew up with idea that police are supposed to deescalate situations. Today there are way too many incidents of police escalating situations. The protest in Austin yesterday is a perfect example of that. We need to completely reevaluate police training and recruitment.

I’m at the UT campus today, so I walked down to the protests. Still distilling my feelings, but one of the most chilling things is seeing how many people are taking pleasure in young adults being arrested.
