Today is a landmark day for TVET in Uganda! At the commissioning of the new Assessment Centre, ES Onesmus Oyesigye (CPA) lauded the First Lady & Hon. Minister Janet K Museveni for a decade of visionary leadership that has fundamentally reorganized the sub-sector. #UVTABAssessment

A victory for the "Public Purse!" The new UGX 25 Billion facility was 100% financed by the Government of Uganda. Notably, it was completed on schedule, within budget, and without any cost variations—a testament to efficiency and quality.

From renting to owning: Previously, operations were scattered across three rented premises costing over UGX 300M annually. Today, #UVTABAssessmentCentre has a permanent home that also houses the TVET Council, strengthening coordination in accreditation & quality assurance.

Strategic growth continues! The Board has secured land in Namanve for an Assessment Warehouse to centralize secure testing and printing. The ES requested continued support to turn this into a world-class assessment hub.

Today marked a major milestone for Uganda’s education sector. Board Chairperson Assoc. Prof. Dorothy Okello welcomed the First Lady & Hon. Minister Janet Museveni to the official commissioning of the Uganda Vocational and Technical Assessment Board Assessment Centre. #TVETAssessmentCentre

Prof. Okello expressed deep gratitude to the Parliament of Uganda for the enactment of the TVET Act 2025. She noted this timely legislation positions Uganda to develop a competent, industry-ready workforce at a critical national juncture. #UVTABUpdates2026

Reporting on key achievements, the Chairperson announced that the Board has successfully validated all qualifying staff in line with the TVET Act 2025. She confirmed that Uganda Vocational and Technical Assessment Board is now fully operational and ready to deliver its mandate. #UVTABAssessmentCenter

She urged TVET trainers to implement practical mechanisms that ensure quality delivery. The goal is to ensure that assessment outcomes reflect real competence and readiness for the world of work.

On industry alignment, Prof. Okello emphasized that the Board is fast-tracking MOUs with the "World of Work." This ensures curricula and assessments meet global standards and produce a workforce adaptable to the green economy. #UVTABAssessmentCentre
