Faaborg New Cemetery, Denmark was visited by a member of The Denmark Team, working voluntarily and proudly for Commonwealth War Graves. Action was taken by the Team to get the ivy removed and over a period of time the result was the pristine plot, covered with pearl gravel, ready for flowers.
After the hundreds of spectators have left the 4th May Liberation Eve Ceremony in Svinø Churchyard, Denmark one who travelled from the UK to see Commonwealth War Graves War Grave dear to him explains, "we owe to them our freedom."
The Commonwealth War Graves Commission Commonwealth War Graves and local interests inspect and lovingly tend the graves of 23 nations in Denmark. S W African Flt Lt J F L Sinclair, RAFVR 181 Squadron sadly lost his life on 18th July 1945. Ft Lt Sinclair rests in Bispebjerg Cmy, Copenhagen.
Tomorrow, 17th September marks the start of the battle for the bridge at Arnhem in 1944. It is tragic that 1,772 identified British soldiers rest in Arnhem Oosterbeek Cemetery. The many graves are lovingly maintained forever by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. Photo Commonwealth War Graves
