Zoe Wachtel (BS from University of Illinois, Prof. Olshansksy). Zoe is an incoming grad student and summer rotator! She worked on evaluating the use of organic oxidants for one electron oxidation of metal complexes. We are excited to welcome Zoe to Michigan!

Next is REU student Audrey Farrell, visiting from Smith College. Audrey worked on synthesizing organic molecules for aqueous redox flow batteries. We wish you the best for your future plans! 🎉

Finally, REU student Maxi Ledesma from UT Austin. Maxi worked on functionalization of aminopyridines using Palladium. Maxi will be a senior at UT this year and plans to attend grad school for chemistry. Yay Maxi!

The crowning achievement from Efrey Noten's thesis studies with important contributions from two rotation students, Bobby Wolesensky and Cody Ng. N-acylsulfonamides give only phenol products - the simple oxidation state switch to sulfinamides activated the bimolecular coupling pathway!
