I have thought more about this overnight and it continues to baffle me how a company can go from on its knees and unable to support a staffing structure to this financial splurge? Doomed to repeat the same mistakes? Continued lack of community consultation?

Continuing to let the wrong people go. You can go back 3 years to the people who were let go then through to the people wrongly & callously culled last year. The people let go are people in the community, club members, actual coaches at clubs. The fat cat non cricketers.... well

A powerful message on a day like today, from former APS Sport Rep, current Aust Women's Hockey squad & Carey Sport Alumni Sophie Taylor (OCG2013) Student athletes & Staff take the time to listen to her sage & sensible advice. bit.ly/38whmOA #apssport #APS #apshockey

The cricketing community won’t forget. The people won’t forget. They stabbed good people in the back and then kicked them when they were down and now they are rubbing their noses in it. Shameful.

All the jobs recently offered should be offered to A- people who previously held them who were removed through no fault of their own & B- to the people offered roles which POOF disappeared.... and it isn’t just players. Plenty of areas of the game support & development destroyed

Issues with staff retention at junction Oval... just another day ending in Y. Be nice to see some more grassroots appointments instead of more and more departures and managers.... Also be nice to see some honesty in decision making. New CEO same problems

Also the umpiring thing.... I’ll believe it when I see it. Their was a position advertised months ago, again, yet to see anybody in that position. More spin than the great SK

Thought after spending an enjoyable day watching the girls U18 competition , why can’t all clubs get the live scoring working? Same old faces every time failing, I doubt this would be the case for the boys...

Also can someone explain the Frankston Peninsula v Camberwell game to me? Frankston has Dandenong players playing and none of the Camberwell team appear to have any link to the club?! Seems to be a very messy match for the sake of showing female engagement?

Bob Backland (@bobbackland7) 's Twitter Profile Photo

All in all though I have loved learning some new names through their performances! Some favourites Maddie Green from Geelong Bella Woods from Greenvale Grace Jones from EMP Uvindee Wijesna from Dandenong

Is the cue just in the rack at junction oval? Only way you would know is local media and club accounts that Chand is playing for Greenvale & Box Hill have a World Cup winner playing for them (Hartley). Surely this would attract some more eyeballs to watch… with promotion…

A 1st season premier 1’s player was out for a golden on a hat trick ball, then tried to Mankad (unsuccessfully) 3 batters in 12 balls when they bowled. Says a lot about a the standard & b the philosophy at that club they let him do it more than once. Thanks for the heads up Sam

Cricket Victoria is expected to release the 'Hussey Report' - Mike Hussey's look at how the Vics select their state teams and contract players - in the next couple of weeks. It was sent to the CV board about three weeks ago.

Bob Backland (@bobbackland7) 's Twitter Profile Photo

A pairing that wouldn’t look out of place in Premier Cricket. Neil won flags with EMP & was part of the recent blip of success at Camberwell with Brendan Drew. Club hasn’t been the same since they left. I hear Gunnawardena could probably still score runs in grade cricket too!

great get. sign of the times continuing at Greenvale sadly. spend money on overseas players and can't keep good local players. Surely the merry go round can't continue.

Classic CV back to the model of 7 years ago, put more work on the clubs and remove a fantastic resource.. at what point do the clubs see they are being fed a line to get to the point CV want?!
