Wonderful news! 📷 We’ve got 150 preorders of Unhappy King Charles – that’s halfway to our first threshold and the price change! 📷 phalanx.backerkit.com/hosted_preorde…

Cannot wait to see where this goes. On the one hand, standing up for one’s product, legally, is crucial. On the other, I’m afraid of the “Copyright Creep” that can come from system design copyright.

We are only as brilliant and clever as the tool sets we've created! Therefore, we need new kinds of games. thereader.mitpress.mit.edu/what-if-wargam…

I do not wish for games to fail, but maaaaaaan, I'm so turned off by this. I'm oddly curious to see its narrative, both in its text and in its mechanics. I'd love to play it, with minimal expectations of being able to take it seriously.

I can’t say this is 100% unprecedented but holy crap this is going to be something special. I cannot wait to see the inner operations of a larger, productive publisher.

Seeing Legacy of Yu starting to pop up for sale! Hoping I’ll be able to get myself a copy here soon (finally)!! I love the idea of someone finally doing an efficiency Euro where the entire experience is focused on the interactions of one person, and one person only.

I’m going to be writing a whole article, but three plays into Votes for Women (all two-handed, Suffragists v. Opposition) and it both reminds me of the power that historical gaming has, and shows up all prior games in such a way I fear going back to them. Can’t wait to play more!

The British Way is the like, most me thing I’ve ever wanted released. Many smaller, simpler, two-player COIN games in one box. But I’ve slept on it so far. I think it’s out of fear of my completionist waking up again to encourage me to buy the whole series. Again.

kickstarter.com/projects/fortc… The Kickstarter campaign for The Halls of Montezuma is now live! Gilberto and I are very pleased with how the game builds on the core system from The Shores of Tripoli but adds an excellent political system for both the US and Mexico.

Before I make any purchases, I’m looking for a tactical, operational, and strategic level set of hex-and-counter wargames. I’m attempting to find a diverse set of different designers and publishers and eras. Let me know your thoughts, and I’ll post my own soon!
