Most people caught the iconic Tam's Burgers sign during last night's Super Bowl halftime show. But did you notice the 'Eve After Dark' marquee? This is a nod to the legendary Compton nightclub where Dr. Dre got his start as a DJ, as a member the World Class Wreckin' Cru.

Here's a flyer I came across while working on a story about this era in LA nightlife history for KCET-TV. During the summer of 1985, World Class Wrecking Crew appeared with Ice T and Lisa Lisa at The Olympic Auditorium. Three years before NWA dropped Straight Outta Compton.
