At least 150, and potentially as many as 200 current MLS players qualify for & would like to take the B license course right now. Not one of them will be able to do so this year, which will be the 3rd consecutive year no B licenses are earned by 1st division players in the U.S.

This despite the fact that players have the time, access to facilities and access to Academy players to complete all of the required coursework. In the words of the Federation’s head of coaching education, MLS players provide “no value” to their coaching programs.

If the Federation is going to continue to prioritize protecting its own over all else, then it’s time for an alternative coaching education program in this country. herculez gomez
