Children hit by an SUV, while walking or cycling, are 77% more likely to be killed than if hit by a smaller car - rising to over 200% for children under nine. That’s why I’ve asked TfL to research the growing impact of supersized SUVs in our city.

When I was first elected, evidence showed it would take 193 years to bring London's air pollution within legal limits. Thanks to our policies, we've done it in 9 💚 theguardian.com/environment/20…

A combination of developer-led anti-planning and pitifully inadequate public transport presided over by a government with little concept of and less interest in the public realm or the public good.

Irish Times Opinion What do the Christian gospels say about €20,000 handbags? What does she wish to celebrate exactly, other than her far right political career?

Same result in a 2018 UCD study. The most efficient way to get around any city is on a bike. That’s why more people cycle in Dublin every morning than use DART+LUAS combined. dublininquirer.com/eoin-marco-bet…

My 3 year old twin boys had to miss a really vital hospital appointment in Cork today because of the fuel protests. Rang the hospital to be told they will be put back on the waiting list. Who knows how long til we get an appointment again. It's a disgrace! #fuelprotest

"The protestors in the city centre were “splintering out” with two or three people blocking off certain junctions not allowing buses through" Deliberately targeting buses like this is disgraceful. This isn't protest, it's thuggery. irishtimes.com/ireland/2026/0…

Tullamore Jew (@faoljew) 's Twitter Profile Photo

there's an inherant selection bias to those attending these protests because you not only need to own capital assets in buses, lorries, or tractors you need enough of an excess to spare them while your business continues to operate

If a single person dies because an emergency vehicle couldn't get to them, or get them to where they could get help, every single person responsible for these blockades should be held accountable They care only about themselves & are happy to fuck over everyone else #fuelprotests

When the leader of your protest is a tax-dodging farmer who neglects his animals, you probably should find another figurehead. "convicted of cruelty after 60 cattle died on farm". independent.ie/irish-news/fue…

Protestors' leader John Dallon has convictions for drunk driving and refusing to give breath sample: "While waiting to give a breath sample Dallon attempted to put his fingers down his throat as if he was trying to make himself sick". independent.ie/regionals/moto…

So people are supporting James Geoghegan because they believe he's doing what he's doing out of concern for all Irish people. A man who refused to pay his taxes and was convicted of despicable acts of cruelty to animals is who they choose to follow! #fuelprotests

I would encourage those struggling with fuel costs and with sincere grievances to look through this man's social media accounts before platforming him or getting behind him as any sort of spokesperson.
