Although I designed The vOICe sensory substitution training videos for supervised learning by sighted people, I suspect they can also be used for unsupervised learning (by blind people) youtube.com/watch?v=ihSbdG… #AI #Kohonen #qualia

(YouTube) Neuroscientist David Eagleman talks about sensory substitution including #The_vOICe in a new podcast at youtube.com/watch?v=yqYjha… Listen to the full "Inner Cosmos" episode at youtube.com/watch?v=yqYjha… by David Eagleman referring to Jamie Ward BCT Institute (Amir Amedi)

Interestingly, I see no blind people complaining on social media about the lack of progress in visual prosthesis development (retinal implants, brain implants for restoring vision, no invasive devices on the market); #NeuroTech #BCI #blind #blindness

Someday, people will realize that all those electrode-based approaches towards restoring vision to the blind with implants are interesting but have way too many issues; sensory substitution has only one major issue: your brain's ability to learn (and your willingness to learn)

New form of an experiment - my own progressive-web-app that implements an accessible interface to repeatedly notify me of changes in average speed - something would like when I ride motorbikes next time blindza.com/geolocation/
