1. UK – Period stigma was challenged in the UK as women, girls and the menstruating population were alleviated social and economic pressure, with the scrapping of the tampon tax. Scotland became the first country in the world to supply free period products #internationalwomensday

2. USA – In 2021, congresswoman Grace Meng, introduced a whole-of-government initiative which looks to help those in need of menstrual health products, gain access, incentivizing businesses, and universities to distribute free products Grace Meng #InternationalWomensDay

3. Africa – At a menstrual health symposium in 2021, it demonstrated just how policymakers can get involved ending period stigma. There was discussion around breakdown of cultural sensitivities communicating a people-centered and multi-sector approach. #InternationalWomensDay

4. Asia – Entrepreneurs are investing in software, products or services that improve women’s health. A fantastic initiative was created with antimicrobial technology, a pad which kills bacteria, meaning it can be washed in areas with unsanitary water. #InternationalWomensDay

5.Europe – Although there are some ways to go in Europe to eliminate period poverty, the tampon tax which exacerbates period poverty, is set to be eliminated in EU member states this year. #InternationalWomensDay #periodpositive #perioddignity #StopTheStigma
