It was good to have an end of term/year meet with our fellow D&G Bikeability instructors at the Market Inn, Castle Douglas. Record breaking numbers of schoolchildren on bikes in the region so great news, now to sustain and grow.

At the UCI CX World Cup at Hulst. Elite women on the start ready. Seb Grindley top 10 in the U23s and Imogen Wolff 3rd in the U17s.

The fabled Koppenberg tonight as 50mph south westerlies hit the region after this afternoons deluge.

The ride of 2023 was the 62 mile ride to survey art works en route of the Sustrans Scotland NCN 7 from Gatehouse of Fleet. Around 30 miles on Galloway gravel passing some epic landscapes beneath the Cairnsmore and Merrixk. Heading home via Newton Stewart and Creetown in darkness!

The cyclocross moves to the sand dunes of Koksidje today, a welcome shift away from the mud - until Saturday!

Day out on the train today: on time, space for bikes and plenty of seats = a shocking service!!!! Oudenaarde to Ghent and back. One of my favourite cities. Found our way to the Dok Brewery which is a fantastic converted industrial building serving very special beers and food too.

What a day of cyclocross at Guillegem today! A lovely Belgian guy gave us his wife’s ticket as she was too ill to attend then a gutsy win from Zoe Baksted in the women’s elite then Cameron Mason CX followed it up with a brilliant second to European champion Michael Vanthourenhout

Mathieu van der Poel has some engine. Great day at the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup Zonhoven Live with a fantastic atmosphere. Zoe Baksted another podium in 3rd, Puck Peterse first after Lucinda Brandt crashed badly. Cameron Mason CX also sadly crashed out.
