Excellent article. Complex systems yield optimal results in the long term, but the short run level of chaos (and even carnage) is high. Many folks don’t have the risk tolerance to make a commitment to it.

Tucker’s post assumes partisanship only orients left vs right - horizontally. But he displays sharp vertical partisanship in advocating for the empowerment of citizens over the institutions of centralized power.

Rule Number 1 Never judge a political player’s partisan position based on campaign tactics. They always beseech the bottom of the political circle because that’s where the swing votes are. Actions in office are the true tell.
