“Free market” is neutral regarding conservative or liberal values and should be regarded as neither. It only intersects with them within the confused minds of those who haven’t worked out the definitions for themselves.

Let’s say it again ….. Free speech is NOT a liberal-conservative issue. Free speech views align along a fundamentally different axis - one that intersects with left-right but still remains separate.

Excellent article. Complex systems yield optimal results in the long term, but the short run level of chaos (and even carnage) is high. Many folks don’t have the risk tolerance to make a commitment to it.

“The real division is between the establishment and outsiders.” Greenwald makes a false assertion here. The *real* division is between centralized institutions and citizen empowerment. His conflation gives socialist candidates a false path to power. Outsiders can be centralists

The conservative George W. didn’t display preference for a slower pace or careful evaluation when launching a wmd war. Why do so few look for bedrock when searching for political definitions?

It’s impossible to speak cogently about “left” and “right” without using the qualifiers “centralized” and “citizen” (empowered) alongside those terms. Four broad categories of political orientation. Not two. The old left-center-right model doesn’t make sense.

“Left, right, and center ….” Even our best minds find it difficult to reason from first principles when it comes to partisan belief systems.

Tucker’s post assumes partisanship only orients left vs right - horizontally. But he displays sharp vertical partisanship in advocating for the empowerment of citizens over the institutions of centralized power.

Rule Number 1 Never judge a political player’s partisan position based on campaign tactics. They always beseech the bottom of the political circle because that’s where the swing votes are. Actions in office are the true tell.
