NFU Farm Safety Top tip today is to make sure you make time during the week to have an informal chat with colleagues / Family / Neighbours on the topic of health and safety. It’s amazing how a ten minute chat each week over coffee can start to change attitudes & eventually culture ##ComeHomeSafe

We must shift our culture so that the wearing of helmets whenever on a quad bike is simply normal. I don't care how experienced you are, how much of a risk taker you are or how much you value your latest haircut there is simply no excuse for not wearing one. #ComeHomeSafe

Something I find incredible frustrating is the prevalence with which I see drivers of large agricultural machinery using their phones on the road. Often they would not dream of texting or making phone calls whilst driving a car. It's dangerous, stupid and illegal #ComeHomeSafe

Just spent some time looking through the fatalities in agriculture and fishing for 2020/2021. It's hard to know what to say really but it makes for depressing reading. Let's all try and get this sorted for current and future workers. hse.gov.uk/agriculture/pd…

A case concerning the death of a 21-year old farm worker was concluded this week. It occurred during the demolition of a grain drying tunnel. This death was avoidable. Use contractors with the right training & equipment. Demolition guidance: buff.ly/3pcYLiL #comehomesafe
