Brooklyn Museum is having an exhibit on Elizabeth Catlett, my lithography inspiration. “Black Maternity” (1959) influenced my first crayon lithograph “Walking the Lion” (2009). When Catlett passed in 2012, my kind, old printmaking teacher emailed to me, “I’m sorry for your loss.”
