I’m heartbroken by these recent tragedies of gun violence, and I just keep thinking about all the leaders who won’t take a stand to save lives and yet line up to pass bills that make it harder for us to vote.

The vast majority of the American people want Washington to act to bring down gun violence. Voters elected a Democratic House, a Democratic Senate, and a Democratic president to get this done. We must get rid of the filibuster to stop the NRA from vetoing widely popular policies.

The Georgia voting law — like so many others being pursued by Republicans in statehouses across the country — is a blatant attack on the right to vote, the Constitution, and good conscience. It’s Jim Crow in the 21st Century — and it must end.
