Here’s the message being sent: If you’re a male pastor, you’re good👊. If you’re a female pastor of “any kind,” it doesn’t matter how godly you are, we will act upon your church like we *say we will act upon churches with abusers or racists on staff. That’s not right. Vote no.

Mixed messages here Center for Baptist Leadership -- lots of condemnation of LGBT sin and sexual morality -- and then the message that evangelicals can't care about the morals of people they elect

The Law Amendment failed, I didn’t care either way. My Southern Baptists of Texas Convention does not allow any church that has a female senior pastor, that won’t change. The SBC has recent history of disfellowshipping churches with female senior pastors. There’s no drift, just a Baptist Sanhedrin. #sbc24

Congratulations to Clint Pressley on his election as president of the Southern Baptist Convention. A great man, a great pastor, a great leader, a great man of God! He will lead us well.

There’s no better example of Christlike humility and fairness than Bart Barber. We didn’t deserve his leadership, but I’m sure glad the Lord allowed us to have it for two years.

I’ve been to most all SBC meetings since ‘94. When voting on BF&M2000 we had 60-80 lead female pastors/co-pastors. Now we have zero & some see it as more of a problem than 25 years ago! Beware when you hear talk of “liberal drift” for it may be a Trojan Horse to get power. #SBC25

🧵 In an absolutely predictable turn of events, it appears ratifying the #LawAmendment won’t be the end of the planned disfellowshipping of SBC churches that allow women to use their gifts—whether titled pastor or not. Disappointed but unsurprised.

If I heard correctly, the Sanchez amendment is even worse than the Law amendment in that it includes language, not just about titles, but functions. Do we really want the CC trying to interpret job descriptions and responsibilities? #SBC25 1/2

Dr. Iorg says, "moving [the Law/Sanchez Amendment] into the constitution further complicates the issue" and could have "all kinds of unintended consequences..." The "constitution is a legally binding document," so there are "legal and financial implications." #SBC25
