Lawmakers MUST do a better job questioning the "research" used to justify labor policies. Governor Phil Murphy's Misclassification Task Force Report impacted 1.7 million Independent contractors based on input from about 40 people & HRW's data polled 127 people--not a single 1 from NJ.

Remember these empty store shelves during the 2020 pandemic panic? If the NJDOL Commissioner moves his awful proposal forward & eliminates 75% of our trucking capacity, this will be the norm. Governor Phil Murphy Mikie Sherrill Jack Ciattarelli will you stand with independent contractors & stop him?

What a cowardly & insulting "F*&# you" to independent contractors in NJ. Governor Phil Murphy "standing back" instead of standing UP & directing NJ Labor Department to rescind their job-killing proposal. njbiz.com/pushback-nj-co…

“New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy seems to think only the Almighty can stop his own Labor Department's freelance busting.”

NJ lawmakers announced their intention to introduce legislation that would declare the new Department of Labor and Workforce Development rules concerning the employment status test for independent contractors inconsistent with legislative intent, if the Department doesn’t respond

Mikie Sherrill supports union-backed freelance busting at the federal level via the PRO Act. She’s been silent on NJDOL’s union-backed version that threatens an estimated 1.7 million independent contractors in New Jersey. It’s literally her career or ours in November.

New from me: The Economic Policy Institute filed a questionable public comment about New Jersey's proposed independent-contractor rule. The last paragraph, I have to admit, is a masterwork of fictional writing. freelancebusting.com/p/lies-damned-…
