Insightful keynote by Sue Lacey Bryant at the #HLG2024 this morning. Glad to learn the great work by health librarians from before, and the expectations & priorities for the future. Indeed, in a world of facts, fallacies and fads, librarians will always be needed. Thanks, Sue.

Capacity building for librarians is close to my heart. I was honoured to serve as a Resource Person on data analytics and visualization with Tableau at LRCN's Mandatory Workshop for Librarians today. Indeed, we all have to shift to grow. Go blue ocean.

Happy to have spent today at the Good Financial Grant Practices workshop by APHRC for Nigerian universities. Indeed an eye opener to the opportunities ahead when we strengthen our institutional research management ecosystem and become GFGP certified. Thank you APHRC!

To God's glory, I completed my PhD journey this week. And as one of my professors told me, the real "scholarship starts now."

What a year! How do I explain that I am just reading a 'please find time to read' manuscript emailed since March? Hectic 2024. Hectic 2024! Apologies for any disappointment, please. We've got to be more strategic now; there's just too much to do. Let's build more people, please

I just felt a great urge to press Ctrl+S, but I wasn't doing anything that required that command in the last two hours. When you live in Africa, some survival codes are wired in your head, really. Ctrl+S is very important in such places with perennial power cuts 😀🥲

The youths must be taught history, but they must realise that their actions today are the history of tomorrow. If history repeats itself in a bad way, who can a generation blame but itself? If nothing worthwhile is learnable from history, it's better to create a new history.

The menace of predatory publishing has eaten deep into #scholcomm. IMO, it is mostly fueled by dysfunctional education, primitive career advancement policies, lack of publishing governance, and greed. Conscious efforts are needed by individuals, institutions, and the govt.

I had an engaging week as I presented our research to professional colleagues at the Medical Library Assn's 2025 in Pittsburgh. Many thanks to the TETFund for the sponsorship to attend and learn immensely at the prestigious #MLANET25 conference.

In academia, you've got to accept that you will be rejected. Got a rejection letter? Repackage that paper using the feedback you got and launch again. It's not how low you fall that matters, but how high you bounce back. #ScholComm
