Introducing the Gremlin! The Gremlins are the first of many fantastical species you’ll be meeting in the realm of Afar, and they’re ready to start causing trouble! The puppet was designed and built by Basil Waite of FopDoodles based on initial sketches by Billy Treacy.

Casting News! Billy Treacy plays Archibald Oakheart, a broken knight recovering from terrible loss, while Daniel Sherratt is playing Wilkin, a petulant wizard looking for a quiet life.

My favourite bit of that Doctor Who episode was when the Doctor shuts off everyone’s life support. Classic Doctor.

That Doctor Who episode was like something you’d dream about a Doctor Who episode being and then you’d wake up in a puddle of your own sweat.

Filming finally commenced for Afar’s Proof of Concept on Tuesday 22nd April. The Proof of Concept will be available to view later in the year. Following a review period, filming will begin on the series itself. Stay tuned for further updates on the show’s development.
