Your identity is not who you are but who you have surrendered to. It’s not rooted in your resume, it’s rooted in His.

Your identity is not who you are, but who you have surrendered to. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. Galatians 2:20

From the most intricate sunset to the most delicate flower, God let’s us experience the same feeling He gets when He looks at us.

God didn’t just give us the ability to see worldy “beauty”. He gives us the patience to sit through an entire sunrise. He gives us the blessing of getting to know people and watch as beauty unfolds in them over time.

God’s will for our life isn’t always the hardest or the most faith stretching option. God cares about what we are passionate about. He put that desire there for a reason. It’s a blessing, not a burden.

God loved, and was well pleased with Jesus before He had even started His ministry. We are loved by God, not because of what we do, but because of our who we are to Him.

“and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.”” Luke 3:22 NIV

It’s important to trust God with your passions. God doesn’t want us to not pursue them. It is His desire to use them for His glory!

Our emotions are like our all too familiar “check engine light”. We literally cannot depend on the light to lead us to the car shop. It doesn’t work that way. Our emotions, like the light, simply tell us something is wrong. They alone, don’t have the power to “fix” anything.

We were not designed to be led by our emotions. We were designed to be led by the spirit. Only the Spirit can lead us to what we truly need, or rather, who we need. Jesus.
