I don't think I've fully mentioned it here before, but the main trio of Ultimate X-Men is likely influenced by Akira Fudo (Hisako), Takeshi Hongo (Mei), and Misa Kuroi (Nico). It's obvious with Mei, and Nico does a direct reference. As for Hisako, think about it for a second.
