We’re at the point where my eldest has a hole in one sock in each pair so I’ve told him to mix and match because I’m not wasting fabric plus they’re mostly white socks with a mixture of stripes so no one cares.

And, not exactly in the habit of praising posh white men, but kudos again to William Dalrymple for using your platform and voice to educate many of us and to speak up for the Palestinians.

Reasons I read? Because right now, my brain is more than a browser with a hundred tabs open, it's a hamster wheel, an out-of-control bull in a china shop and that GIF of a guy doing complex algebra to an unsolvable maths equation. All at the same time.

"Information about children isn’t shared in the way it needs to be." I'd rather it wasn't given how easily information is hacked. This is what Labour plans to bring in. theguardian.com/education/2024…

Govt wins final Commons vote on the Anti-Boycott Bill which will erode local democracy, restrict freedom of expression & undermine campaigns for social & climate justice. Over to the unelected Lords yet again - ironically doing a far better job of championing democracy than MPs…

The amount of people that were so invested in Depp vs Heard. Watching it live on their screens. Live commentary from so many of my mutuals on twitter. But South Africa vs Israel? Not as important is it...? Of course, even Sky and BBC had live coverage of Depp vs Heard.

What a world we live in where we have a crumbling country with struggling public services and a cost of living crisis with excuses of delays in funding, but the govt apparently has enough money to carry out airstrikes as early as tonight. Corrupted to their very core.

Military action in Yemen by the UK & US government is a reckless act of escalation that will only cause more death and suffering. It is utterly disgraceful that Parliament has not even been consulted. When will we learn from our mistakes and realise that war is not the answer?

Not enough money for NHS pay rises, not enough money for schools, not enough money for police and public services and to mitigate cost-of-living crisis, but PLENTY of money to support the US in their maniacal destruction. Rishi Sunak, you're a disgrace.

The National Trust is far from in trouble. By the end of 2023 independent research found it is the most trusted UK institution after the NHS, also the most searched-for charity and charity with the highest social score. Record year for donations too. Thanks everyone.

“I also feel like I’ve betrayed London and cheated on it for a calmer, less hyperactive model that’s been keeping me warm while London waited for me to grow up and return not realising that in the end, none of this matters.” Read more here: thebroll.substack.com/p/to-london-or…

“This is why I have decided to treat social media like I treat my real life. I treat people with the same kindness as I would offline. I block people liberally the way I enforce my boundaries in real life.” Absolutely 100% this from @nktgill! nikitagill.substack.com/p/why-ive-deci…

I’ve been watching Downton Abbey over the last couple of weeks. Justice for Matthew and Sybil. I’m incredibly annoyed.
