OTD 1997: @BHSsoftball2021 splits DH with Rantoul at Centennial Field as they won the conference opener 4-1, but lost nightcap 12-2 in 6IP. Gabe Wood won g1 (7IP/14K/0W/1H) as Jennifer Stauter had 2H. Amy Greenlee took the loss in g2 as Katie Crabtree doubled and batted in a run.

OTD 2011: Among the area statistical leaders in baseball, Curtis Wiese is 3rd in batting average (.514) & tied for 5th with Matthew Mardis in stolen bases (16). Mardis is second in RBI (35), & Kent Frantz is tied for the lead in pitching wins (6).

OTD 2017: At Charleston in the girls state 3A track meet preliminaries held at EIU's O'Brien Stadium, Kylie Welch advances in the 200 (:24.96, 8th) & 400 (:56.90, 2nd) dashes, Brooke Misukonis (11'0" in pole vault), & Ellie Weltha (43-3.5, 3rd in shot put & 124-0, 7th in discus)

OTD 2009: On the weekly Area Honor Roll, Jeshiah Campbell is 200 leader (:22.14) and in long jump (23-10'), Greg Patton is on in 300 intermediate hurdles (:39.96), Sodiq Allu is triple jump leader (44-6.75'), plus BHS Track&Field/XC has top time in the 400 relay (:42.78).

Even though it was a short season, the weather felt perfect for football in March & April. Walker Burns’ record-setting 99-yard run on the 1st play of the season, & breaking a 8-game losing streak to Normal Community made it a season to remember. Stats are from Dr. Veeman.

OTD 1999: Boys' tennis clinches its 24th consecutive sectional title at BHS Courts, leading the standings w/22 pts. Mike Walz qualifies for state as he makes it to the semifinals in singles, along with David Nyweide-John Jones & Brian Hill-Andy Chambers in doubles.

OTD 2003: @BHSsoftball2021 wins at Decatur Eisenhower 8-3 in Big 12 play. Brie Ford had four hits to help support winning pitcher Kaylyn Eash & reliever Ashley Spivey. Shelby Parker drove in 2RBI for Gigi MacIntosh's team.

OTD 1991: @2021BHSBaseball Beats Champaign Central 16-6 in 6IP at Rantoul AA Regional. Jason Sorensen's 3rHR was part of a 7-run second to spark BHS. Jason Scott had 2-2Bs/2RBI, Sorenson 2H/5RBI, & David Houk 2H/3RBI provided the offense as Aaron Egbers gets the win.

OTD 2000: On this week’s list for the Area Honor Roll in girls' track, Lexie Nuckolls has fast times in 100 (:12.2) & 200 (:25.0), Lindsey Reu is atop the 300 hurdles (:45.72), and the 400 relay (Reu, Nuckolls, Lindsey Arnold, Michelle Crawford--:49.89) lead their event.

OTD 1999: Girls' soccer wins U-High Regional over the host school 4-1 to advance to the Decatur Eisenhower Sectional vs. Urbana. Natalie Dustman scores twice, while Jenny Walz & Phoebe Wainwright also tallied, with assists from Wainwright & Kendra Sutton.

OTD 2020: Austin Myers is named the new head coach for girls' basketball at BHS, succeeding Rich Rector. The Normal West grad will teach PE at BHS after being at Washington GS this past school year. Myers also taught & coached in the Champaign School district for 4 years.

OTD 1989: Boys' tennis win their 1st state title at Arlington Heights. John Morel-Barry Brandt take 2nd & Greg Jaynes-Jim Joslin were 3rd in doubles, with John Brown was 4th in singles. The team also dedicated their state title to BHS Athletic Director Bob Frank.

OTD 1998: Softball defeats East Peoria 4-2 at Centennial Field in a East Peoria AA Regional game. Gabe Wood strikes out 11 and had two hits at the plate as the Lady Raiders will take a 26-3-1 record into the semifinals against Olympia.

OTD 2009: @2021BHSBaseball beats Pontiac 7-1 in BHS 3A Regional at Howard Saar Field. Dylan Johnson gets win, helped by batterymate Eric Varney's 2RBI. Matt Herek (3RBI), Ryan Casey, and Alex Ludwig all had 2h each as BHS advances to the finals to take on top-seeded Streator.

OTD 2009: BHS Track&Field/XC finishes 10th at state 2A finals in Charleston. The 400 relay (Brooks, T.D.H., Greg Patton, and Jeshiah Campbell) was 2nd in :42.67. Campbell placed 3rd in long jump (22-0.25'), Patton took 4th in 400 in a season-beat :49.58.

OTD 2000: Most valuable athletes were announced for spring sports, which include Barry DeBord & Jeff Engle (BSB), Kendra Eash & Gabe Wood (SB), Mike Walz (BTN), Tyler Neal (BTK), Lindsey Reu (GTK), & Jenny Walz (GSC). Ninety-two student-athletes receive their monogram "Bs."
