Preach The Knowledge Project. If you go back to your chapter on feedback loops you’ll know why educators keep doing it. This also nails the equity angle. #edchat

If a student graduates from high school and never had the opportunity to effectively communicate (both analyze & create) across domains of text, sound, video can they be considered literate? #edchat #edtech #literacy

Just skimming this job posting gave me roughly 71 ideas to bring back to my school. Sounds like a pretty good place to be.

I’d bet school leaders would look at this and think these would be good questions to ask of staff & they’d be right. But I think it’d be even better to ask versions of these to students. You’d learn so much. Excellent street data. Shane Safir Jal Mehta Dave Quinn Kevin Gorman

This is the best reporting I’ve seen thus far on the intersection of many issues that are facing schools this year. Must read. ⁦@JohnMWat1⁩ ⁦Shane Safir⁩ ⁦Justin Reich⁩ ⁦Randi Weingarten 🇺🇸 🖇️👩‍🎓📚⁩ nytimes.com/2021/12/24/us/…

A useful read heading into next week (and those that follow) from a pediatric ICU doctor. Thanks to James Noonan @[email protected] for putting it on my radar. “Protect us from all anxiety…” indeed.

Sometimes I read that parents have "lost all trust" in schools or unions or something like that. Quick reminder that the evidence overwhelmingly contradicts this framing. A (shockingly high) majority of parents are satisfied or vs with their schools. brookings.edu/blog/brown-cen… 1/4

Really excited to be able to start reading “Becoming Active Citizens” by Tom Driscoll and @ShawnMcCusker. Love that it takes an interdisciplinary approach. Citizenship isn’t just for social studies. Happy to share with any of my Attleboro High colleagues when I’m done.

In the coming weeks, there will be lots of "first team meetings" in offices, classrooms and locker rooms. It’s typically a time where rules are established. Some leaders will have dozens. But Bill Belichick has just 4 — and they apply to us:

Things that Schools should teach: 🧠 • Being wrong is not a bad thing. • It's Okay to question what you have been taught. • Grades aren't as valuable as skills. • Understanding is more important than memorization. • Making mistakes is Okay. Learn from your mistakes.
