5,371 people in Poplar and Limehouse receive the PIP Daily Living Allowance. Under the Government’s proposals to cut disability benefits, it’s estimated that around 42% of these could lose out. The Government must drop these cuts. If not, I will be voting against them.

The Disability Benefit Cuts Bill has been published. On average PIP recipients will lose £4,500 a year. These are the deepest cuts to disability benefits since George Osborne - impacting 3 million people. This won't create jobs, it will create poverty. MPs must vote against.

The government's welfare Bill is a cruel and disgusting attack on disabled people and their right to live in dignity. MPs should ask themselves: did you become an MP so you could push thousands of disabled people into poverty?
