Honored to have recently joined the board of The Memphis Challenge, Inc. and I am excited to serve and support this amazing organization serving youth of Color in their academic pursuit of excellence. I will be primarily serving in a fundraising and grant writing role. 🥳

When I moved to Memphis in 2020 to pursue a dream of working in #academia, I had a bed, TV, Clothes, and 3 cats. That was it. I took a leap of faith. Now, 3 1/2 years later, I’ve turned a house into a home ❤️ I love my adopted city of #Memphis, and hope to spend my career here🍀

I’m sitting here reading this book for a paper I’m working on, and what do I see on page 113?!? Why, it’s my name! 😆🤭 I didn’t know I was cited in this. It was published in 2022, so I am a bit behind current literature in my field.😅 Pretty cool!🤭☺️

Good happenings lately. My 2021 article received its first citation that wasn’t from me citing myself!! 😂😂😂🥳🥳🥳 It’s an amazing feeling to have someone find something useful from my obscure little article. 🩵🤍💙

Apparently, I was at Target’s too long because my mother turned on the “find my phone” feature on my phone while I was unpacking my cart in the check out lane. I didn’t know she could do that. It took me a bit to realize the alarm was coming from me. I’m 42 years old. 🤦🏻‍♀️
