There's a common misconception that Brutalist buildings were unpainted, but thanks to microscopic analysis of the exteriors we can now recreate what they looked like in their prime.

I go on Facebook once a year to check who still wishes me happy birthday. A few years ago I read a fascinating book on the Congolese Civil War, started looking up militia commanders whoโ€™d been interviewed, realised they all had Facebook accounts and started sending them friend

That's not how anorexia works, and GLP-1s aren't approved for kids. Don't pathologize a preteen or teenage girl's (extremely reasonable) attempts to control her overeating and desire to be healthy.

The whole "don't stab Jews because you can't know if they support Netanyahu's policies" is a terrible argument. You're actually allowed to have any opinions you want without getting stabbed. It used to be a whole thing we believed in the west. Don't cater to third worldism.

The greatest thing I got from my time with hobbyist astronomy was the sense that eg Saturn is located relative to me. There is a direction that Saturn is and I can point to it if I am precise. Sometimes I would be pointing "down", but it is not in a separate magisteria.
