Midday Celebration: Both of our Commonwealth bills from FSMS were highly ranked and they both passed the House and Senate. One of our BG bills presented well this morning but unfortunately didn’t pass out of chambers. ALL of the delegates from FSMS are debating so well! Kentucky YMCA

This final morning of MS KYA, we woke to the news of last night’s tornadoes and devastation across our state. The KYYMCA mourns with our community, and offers support as our teens and families find a path forward. We will work with local Y efforts in the days and months ahead.

I’m heartbroken for all those at home who’ve experienced more loss than anyone should ever have to bear. But I take heart in seeing all my fellow Kentuckians step up at a time when their kindness is needed most. My prayers are with the those all across the Commonwealth today.

My thanks to KentuckyStateParks for opening up lodging for displaced families after last night. I’m told rooms at the parks are coordinated through local emergency management to the State Emergency Management folks. #kywx

Kentucky is at its best when we show up for each other. And there is a whole lot of that happening today. Despair will not have the last word.
