As an UNPAID carer I care 168 hours every week. My caring apart from organising everything is watching, waiting and guarding. I watch & wait for the next trigger, I try to anticipate every trigger, I guard against those who are triggers. Autism & anxiety are different

2) It would seem that some people are confused about the difference between professional online behaviour and libelous attacks. FoS does not give you the right to launch personal attacks rooted in hatred of another person/s. Not does it excuse racist or religious attacks.

Robust debate is not the same as personal, repeated, mendacious attacks on others. Anyone employed in education on a salary or as a volunteer should know better than to wash their dirty linen in public. It's a terrible embarrassment to their school/s.

The ticking SEND timebomb. I wrote almost a year ago about how the Govt's 10-yr under-funding of SEND services created a looming disaster for councils (here it is 👇). But with the Govt kicking the can down the line again, councils could start collapsing as soon as November... 🧵

All councils must deliver a balanced budget by law each year. If they can't, they MUST declare bankruptcy. Councils publish forecasts in the autumn. But if the Govt hasn't released a plan by then to take the axe off their necks, there's no point. They might as well go bust. ⬇️

So if the Govt doesn't extend the statutory override, or erase the deficits, or provide the funding to wipe them, the councils that *might* go bust *will* go bust. There's no point pretending & wasting everyone's time. And once the first goes, it could trigger a domino effect. ⬇️

The autumn SEND plans are therefore all-or-nothing. If Labour sticks to its current Reform-friendly guns, it will probably set off the collapse of 30-40 councils. Which then begs the question: is this actually what it wants? With policy & strategy as clear as mud, who knows? ⬇️

Either way, this could be catastrophic for public services, jobs, lives, and of course SEND families. Everything now hinges on the Treasury's willingness to support public services. And at the moment there's not much confidence in that...

PS: a request for Schools Week. It's not "over-spending". It's *under-funding*. The difference is between participating in a victim-blaming narrative, or helping to correct it. Thank you.
