I am trying an experiment. I think my phone is a net negative; so I am going to remove it from as much of my life as possible. Plan is to use an apple watch instead. On day 3 and going well. Battery life has been good, small issue with failing sms. But I think this will work.

Cracked after 5 days and took my phone to work. Went home on the 10pm train. It was really pleasant to zone out scrolling through my phone on the way home. I was glad I had it. However, the experiment continues.
