As a mom, this rings true. I tell my child several times all types of new info, but until she practices it, finds a connection, and/or explain it to me or get dad, I cannot guarantee she truly got it. It's no different in the classroom or in my PD w/ teachers regarding tech😊

Agreed Vanessa Heller, as a tech coach, I try to emphasize 2 my Ts how important it is to have a back-up plan on days they intend to go to the lab just because overprep will ALWAYS insure no down time with students.

I recognize this phenomenon seems to get worse every year. As a technology coach, I feel it's my duty to ensure that teachers see the benefits of communication and it's direct impact on Student Success.

Just because we thought time out, ISS, or OSS were serious crimes while growing up, that does not mean that our Ss feel the same way. We realize too late the kind of monster we've created by giving our Ss so many timeouts as opposed to time in on-task.

Feedback with actions attached to them is the best way to RE-engage Ss. Number grades screams success or failure. Actionable feedback creates solutions!
