Today I learned about this amazing DH project from Myanmar, the Kuthodaw Piṭaka Research Project, kuthodawpitaka.org, a digital edition of texts inscribed in buildings.

The exhausting fuss over generative AI, and the vacuous discourse around its world-ending abilities, has (of course) had nothing to say about developments such as this - rooted in other kinds of AI research, more long-standing, and at the sharp end of weaponising its capabilities
