“The Colorado River is hurtling toward a social, political and environmental crisis at a pace that surpasses the Law of the River’s ability to prevent it,” writes Daniel Rothberg. “In a world of less water, everyone who uses the river must adjust.” nyti.ms/3Jv6aDx

Bucket list item this week: interview with Steve Inskeep on Morning Edition to talk about the Colorado River! A bunch of people have commented on the optimism, both positive and negative, but I do think we can live with less water. 1.) we have to 2.) we can npr.org/2022/08/17/111…

Wrapping up day 3 of the Sonoran Institute Northern Colorado Growing Water Smart workshop! Really exciting to see how engaged and motivated these five communities are to integrate h20 and land use planning. And we have the proof with the number of sticky notes and flip charts(!)

"They plan to come up with a way to account for that loss by the end of 2024" As in, it will be included in the 2025 AOP? If it's really to have a plan by EOY 2024, then that can't go into effect until 2026 which is like 3 years too late. @LukeRunyon ?? kunc.org/environment/20…

This is a super dangerous intersection currently-the one saving grace is so few cars drive west on Grandview. 1000s of cars per day would undoubtedly lead to many bikers being hit. Lots of students on this path too, because of the high school. Thx for highlighting this Lisa Dilling!
