The 2025 Bere Island Military Festival will take place on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd June at the Drill Hall, Rerrin, Bere Island.

Celebrating #WorldOceansDay2025 on #BereIsland - when you live on an island the sea is as much of our home as the land is.

Tours of Lonehort Battery #BereIsland have now restarted. Lonehort is the largest of seven gun batteries built on the island by the British Admiralty in the early 1900s.

We have a fantastic line up of speakers for this year’s #BereIsland Military Festival, with thanks to The Heritage Council and Cork County Council for their funding support.

A big thank you to the pupils of Scoil Mhichil Naofa, Bere Island N.S. for the models of Martello Towers they made for our #BereIsland Military Festival. The pupils called in for a preview of the exhibition this morning.
