Check out the Podcast of Peter Wohlleben together with Thorsten Grams and Karin Pritsch about the repeated summer drought experiment #KROOF art19.com/shows/peter-un… (in German only)

Are you interested in how root exudates from mature trees change post-drought and how they affect soil organic matter formation? We have two talks at #EGU23 on Wednesday | BG3.1, 14:35 Benjamin Hafner | BG3.19, 15:10

Great collaboration and awesome work William L King looking forward to our next endeavors #roots #microbes #exudates

Good luck in the UK William L King, looking forward to your groundbreaking work there and thrilled to explore some more #root #soil #microbe interactions together!

Just a teaser, I will be recruiting a fully funded PhD student through South Coast Biosciences DTP (project 2437; dedicated post coming) to look at microbe-root interactions, and another fully funded PhD to look at microbe colonisation dynamics on roots for improving Ag #newPI #scijob #findaphd

Are you interested in plant-microbe interactions? 🦠🌾 Learn to work with microbes, plants, and applied questions to improve Ag sustainability Fully funded PhD project South Coast Biosciences DTP at Biological Sciences. Deadline is 8th of Jan tinyurl.com/mppnk7uc Please RT #PhD #findaphd #newPI

Absolute pleasure to talk about #hydrauliclift and #exudates in the #rhizosphere today @[email protected] at the Ökologische Kolloquium!

Happy to announce our new and broad session with @JoseLab16 at European Geosciences Union 2024 assembly: How do climatic conditions affect the interaction between the carbon cycle and ecohydrology in natural and managed ecosystems? Submit your abstract here: meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU24/session/…

New PhD position in our group. Interested in plant-soil feedbacks and keen on measuring RhizoTraits_Bonares across beautiful Bavaria ? Find infos here: portal.mytum.de/jobs/wissensch… Apply by March 15 to join our interdisciplinary and multinational group TU München!

Just working on more #rootexudate results as our article with Melanie Brunn, Taryn Bauerle and others on tree root exudation in mature forests under drought is now a #TopDownloadedArticle New Phytologist Wiley in research! Read it here: doi.org/10.1111/nph.18…

Super happy to see this out Biogeochemistry! The global #exudate carbon flux: dx.doi.org/10.1007/s10533… Our global synthesis of field measured data across biomes estimates that 9% of global annual GPP is allocated to root exudates. Great collaboration with @ncharisoil and many others!

Looking forward to the annual meeting of the @GfoeSoc starting on Monday TU München in Freising. Make sure to stop by the many great #plantecology sessions this year!

New paper out on Communications Earth & Environment where we show that #Root #exudates can simultaneously form and disrupt #organomineral association in the #rhizosphere. Collabs: Steffen Schweizer Benjamin Hafner Taryn Bauerle Johannes Lehmann Angela Possinger and Carmen Höschen. nature.com/articles/s4324…

Mature beech trees redistributed soil water, equal to ca. 10% of stand #transpiration, from deeper moist #soils to dry surface soils, where it was taken up by seedlings of different #tree species. New #hydraulicredistribution paper with Benjamin D. Hesse: doi.org/10.1111/plb.13…
