I cleaned this up yesterday along the Pennsylvania side of the Burlington Bristol bridge. It was mostly from the rivers edge, squeezed in the boulders.

Soap bottles are *recyclable*! And, they don’t even need to be rinsed out before recycling. A little bit of extra soap actually helps plastic recyclers clean the material in the wash process that’s used during recycling.

Why do we have to re-attach a cap to recycle with a plastic bottle? Because on their own, caps are too small to be sorted! In the US recycling system, our machinery is designed to sort things that are the size and shape of bottles and cans. Anything under 2” x 2” is too small!
