Could you please talk about the robustness (or fragility) of Uganda’s economy in light of its dependence on commodity exports, foreign aid, and external debt? Thank you 🙏🏿

Just finished reading Erick Kabendera Erick Kabendera's memoir about his run-in with President Magufuli. It is an excellent and accessible insight into Tanzania's struggle to free itself of the yoke of strongman -- and strongwoman -- rule.

A day of infamy!!! So judge Bernard Namanya has nullified the election of comrade Hon. Nalukoola Erias Luyimbazi claiming that he campaigned on election day and that elections were disrupted at 14 polling stations! Meaning that henceforth, the regime can deploy goons to disrupt

It all went south when the trial judge denied cross-examination on the questioned 14 polling stations. The cross-examination was vital to attribute the actions of the state to the Petitioner.

Hon. Luyimbazi Elias Nalukoola is not required to vacate his seat in Parliament until his proposed appeal is disposed of on its merits, or withdrawn. (See s.115 (3) (b) of the Parliamentary Elections Act, Cap.177.) It takes 6 months + to dispose of an election petition appeal🤭.

A whole advocate can't tell the difference between a judgment and a ruling. It's a judgment notice for substantive orders in an election petition. But this li'l man insists it's a 'Rulling'. O, lawd!
