City Manager, Eric King, announced last night at City Council that City of Bend, Oregon will be temporarily closing Neighborhood Greenways to nonessential vehicle travel to create safe places for neighbors to get physical activity. The program will start on Monday, April 20th.

Do you remember Bend Open Streets on NE 6th St? Theses temporary designs piloted by @cityofbendoregon became a reality last year. Now we’re going back to open these streets again during the pandemic. Launching next week. #openstreets @commuteoptions

We’re coming up with a new name for what’s in the works because this is not traditional Open Streets. So far we have, Neighborhood Greenway Extensions and Slow Streets. Suggestions?
