The Council proclaimed April 2024 to be Fair Housing Month in the City of Bend. The Fair Housing Act prohibits discrimination of protected classes, when renting or buying a home, getting a mortgage, seeking housing assistance, or engaging in other housing-related activities

US 97 will close near Empire Ave. #inBend THIS SATURDAY morning for up to 15 min. between 7-8 a.m. Crews will complete another round of blasting the hard basalt as part of our Bend North Corridor Project. Details: bit.ly/3TwfAEm

Plan ahead #inBend ! This Sunday, Mar. 24, we're closing US 97 for up to 15 min. between 7-8 a.m. for blasting. This closure allows crews to safely blast a deep layer of hard basalt rock as they continue building the new segment of US 97 from Empire Ave. to Grandview Dr.

Reminder: The traffic detour on Shevlin Park Road will flip next week. Westbound traffic will be able to use Shevlin Park Road, but eastbound traffic will need to detour through Northwest Crossing.

The Council moved for a first reading of the ordinance creating the Transportation Fee by adopting a resolution amending the fee schedule to add the Transportation Fee Phase 1 rates and adopted a resolution amending the staffing schedule by service area. bend.granicus.com/MetaViewer.php…

Council adopted a resolution approving a tax exemption for all taxing districts for properties owned by the nonprofit Central Oregon Veteran and Community Outreach under the City’s Nonprofit Property Tax Exemption program, providing 26 housing units, as well as food and clothing.

Council approved (6-1) to adopt resolution approving 10-year tax exemption for mixed-use building in the Timber Yards Master Plan w/in the Core Area Tax Increment Finance District, under the City's multiple-unit property tax exemption program, providing 246 new residential units.

Bend Fire Pipes and Drums opened this evenings Council meeting promoting the appreciation of the Great Highland Bagpipes and Scottish drumming -through pipe and drum performance in ceremonies, funerals, weddings, parades, & other fire service & non-fire service-related events.

Today's City Council work session will start at 5:30 and can be viewed at bendoregon.gov/councilagenda and the Council meeting will start at 7:00.
